Finishes we offer

The workhorse. Textured for grip in the rain, easy to clean, and the least expensive way to get a driveway that lasts decades.

Pressed patterns — ashlar slate, cobble, wood plank — while the slab is still green. Looks like pavers without the joints that sprout weeds.

Integral color mixed into the load, or a broadcast release for a two-tone look. Charcoal, sand, and warm gray hold up best against Bay Area sun.

Ground and sealed for a smooth, low-sheen surface. Best on protected approaches and garage aprons rather than steep street entries.

Walkthrough and estimate
We measure, check drainage and the condition of the existing base, then hand you a written number. No cost.

Demo and haul-off
Old slab comes out and leaves in our truck the same day. We protect landscaping and keep the street clean.

Base and grade
Class II base, compacted in lifts, graded away from the house and garage so water has somewhere to go.

Forms and steel
Forms set to the finish grade, rebar or mesh tied on chairs — not laid on the dirt and hooked up later.

Pour and finish
Concrete placed, screeded, floated, and finished the way you picked. Control joints cut at proper spacing.

Cure and cleanup
Cured and sealed, site cleaned up. Foot traffic in about 24 hours, vehicles after 7 days.

What drives the cost of a driveway?: Square footage first, then how much demo and haul-off is involved, thickness and reinforcement, access for the truck, drainage work, and finish. A steep or narrow Oakland hills driveway costs more per foot than a flat Hayward one for the same concrete.
How long does a concrete driveway last?: Poured on a properly compacted base with the right thickness and joint spacing, 30 to 40 years is normal here. Hairline cracking at control joints is expected and doesn't shorten that.
Do I need a permit?: For a straight replacement in the same footprint, usually no. If you're widening, changing the curb cut, or touching the city sidewalk or driveway approach, the city gets involved — Oakland, Berkeley, and Alameda all require an encroachment permit for that. We tell you which bucket your job falls in during the estimate.
Can you resurface instead of replacing?: If the slab is structurally sound and only the surface is spalled or stained, an overlay can work and saves money. If it's cracked through, settled, or the base is washed out, resurfacing just buys a year or two — we'll tell you straight which one you're looking at.
How long before I can park on it?: Walk on it after about a day. Keep vehicles off for a full week. Heavy trucks or dumpsters, give it a month.
